Waar is mijn zacht

Something inside so strong

Gekweld door schaduwen
Geniepig gefluister, bedreigend geschreeuw
Het hield haar van het pad.
Het wilde haar gevangen houden.
Gevangen in de lege duisternis.
Haar doel was gesteld.

Beautiful Child

Beautiful child
Lend me your ear
I have a story
You need to hear

There was a girl
I knew her well
Tried to be perfect
And then she fell

Her best was
Just not good enough
Filled with self hate
Her smile was a bluff

For so long
She lived this lie
Held her breath
Would not cry

She lost her identity
Lost herself
Stored her brightness
On a shelf

Then years later
She did cry
She got angry
She asked why She mourned for
The years she lost
If she’d only
Known the cost

She learned that
She was more than weight
She started to let go
Of some of the hate

She learned a word
She never used
She said “No”
“I get to choose”

And finally
I saw her face
Head held high
No disgrace

So always hold
Your head up high
Get angry
Let yourself cry

No one is perfect
Just be you
Love yourself
And you’ll get through

She’s Falling Apart

They pull up their chairs to the table
She stares at the food on her plate
At the toast and the butter
Her father, her mother, she pushes away

And they rise in the morning
And they sleep in the dark
And even though nobody’s looking
She’s falling apart

She gets home from school too early
And closes the door to her room
There’s nothing inside her
She’s weak and she’s tired of feeling like this

And they rise in the morning
And they sleep in the dark
And even though nobody’s looking
She’s falling apart

They call her for dinner, she makes up a reason
She looks at her arms and she rolls down her sleeves
And her mother is starting to see through her lies
And last night her father had tears in his eyes

And they rise in the morning
And they sleep in the dark
And even though nobody’s looking
She’s falling apart

And we rise in the morning
And we sleep in the dark
And even though nobody’s looking
She’s falling apart

Once when I was running

Once when I was running,
from all that haunted me;
to the dark I was succumbing –
to what hurt unbearable…

Searching for the one thing,
that would set my sad soul free.

In times I stumbled upon it,

an inner calm and peace;

and now I am beginning,

to see and to believe,

in who I am becoming –

and all I’ve yet to be.

Einstein

The intrinsic wish of being thin, skinny, light and slim
Did not show the struggling,
With Deception,
With Capitalism,
With Injustice,
My veins brought feelings to my heart but the line was dead
I couldn’t tell you and you got caught up in the DSM instead
Don’t tell me I should eat the apple

The motivation for losing fat, body weight, cells and mass
Did not show the fight,
With fiction,
With consumption,
With people,
I took a vow against this mass media world of shallow hearts
Psychologist, the emptiness inside me was slowly eating me up
Don’t tell me I should eat soup

The aching in my brain that told me : “do not make mistakes”
Did not let on the difficulties,
With intelligence,
With perfectionism,
With fear,
The less was left of me the more my shield of protection grew
Take you with me back in time to see the ones I loved, because I do
I rather eat my own flesh

But then,
How should I put it?
299.792,458
A sparkling star,
Clear but so far,
I found a Genius,
God how he saved me
He said : “Imagination is more important than knowledge”
I ate from the tree of knowledge
And I imagined myself back

The punishments, the rage, the exhaustion, and the blames
The mirror of food, it does fade
With reality,
With fair trade,
With faith in myself
I took the hand of my neurotic, my petrified control-freak
Gave her a place in Physics and Socrates his entity
I will eat without being afraid
Life exists of energy

And Energy has the Ability to Change

Donkere gedachten
Kom weer overeind
En laat je stem weer horen
